Difference Between 304 & 321 Stainless Steel

304 & 321 grades are almost similar, except the addition of titanium in 321 SS which gives it the benefit of greater yield strength, intergranular corrosion resistance & above 900°C working temperature over 304 SS. In a nutshell, 321 SS is ideal for 900°C, but 304 SS can only resist 500°C temperature.

Features & properties

321 Stainless Steel Sheet is a titanium stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel & has excellent forming & welding properties. They are readily roll formed or brake.

The sheets have fine & smooth surface finish, such as satin, 2B, 2D, BA No. 8, No.1, 1D, No.4, BA, 8K, hairline, brush, mirror etc. The different surface finishing increases their properties & durability, & ensure impact resistance.

Renowned to resist above 900°C temperature, they are also resistant to corrosion, cracking, intergranular corrosion & carbide precipitation. They are best choice for applications dealing with subsequent corrosive aqueous conditions.

These are supplied in various non-customized & customized lengths, widths & thicknesses. Standard thickness varies from 0.1 mm to 100 mm, width varies from 10 mm to 2500 mm, & length varies from 2 m up to 10 m or more.

Applications

321 Stainless Steel Sheet is used in an extensive range of applications, including aircraft exhaust manifolds, bellows, expansion joints, refinery equipment, thermal oxidizers, high temperature chemical process equipment, heat exchangers, furnace parts, heating element tubing, spiral welded tube for burner flues & pipes, & screens for high temperature mineral processing.

I hope all these shreds of information worth an extra time. Having a grip of right information can lead to your business growth across India. Explore & find instant online price details of stainless steel 321 sheet at Tradeindia.
