Types & Parts Of Ropeway

Ropeway is a mode of transport that has a capacity to bear heavy weights of passengers and provides them a safe and comfortable ride. However, it can also used to carry materials, goods and components. It is engineered of stainless steel overhead cables attached to the poles from which ropeway carriers are supported. Ropeway is of two types; bio cable and mono cable ropeway. A bi-cable tower consist of  saddles and roller battery, while a mono-cable tower has only roller battery to support the hauling-carrying rope.

The capacity of Ropeway can be measured by the factors like load, it can carry per hour, speed of the carriers, number of passengers.

TYPES OF ROPEWAYS:-
1) Bicable (2S) & Tricable (3S) Gondola lifts
2) AERIAL TRAMWAYS
3) Inclined elevators
4) Fixed Grip Chairlifts.

Parts of Ropeway :-

Rope: A rope is made up of several strands of steel wires spun together. The rope or cable of a ropeway is used to fulfils two functions that are:-
It used to carry the suspended load and pull it along. Depending upon the design of a cable it can be used do one or both of these functions.

Ropeway carrier:  It consists of a carriage and a container . The carriage used for this  purpose is made up of a box head and a hanger. The box head  is attached  to the container with the hauling rope by means of a clip or wheels that run over the supporting rope in a bi-cable system and/or over the station.

Drive station: Drive station consist of ropeways in the drive system, it includes a motor drive mechanism and a driving sheave. It contain some parts to maintain the tension of the rope.

Return station: Return station is at the end of the line  which contains a return sheave, from which the  carriers move back towards the drive station.

Sheaves: Sheaves are large diameter wheel which  found at  the both ends of the line and the stations. Their is hauling rope which passes around them. A driving sheave is run either by an engine or an electric motor connected to the sheave with a suitable drive mechanism.

Things You Should Know About PSA Oxygen Plant

PSA Oxygen Plant
PSA  Oxygen Plant in this  PSA stands for Pressure Swing Absorption Plant which is used to separate the oxygen from a mixture of gases . When pressure is applied to zeolite molecular sieves which attracts  oxygen more than nitrogen as its absorption capacity is different and oxygen exists the vessel.
What are the parts of PSA Oxygen Plant?
1) Air Compressor & After Cooler :- The Air Compressor reduces the  air up to 7.5 Bar and  then it allowed to  cool down  to ambient temperature in a shell or a  tube type heat exchanger. With the help of a mechanical unload the air compressor is been unloaded.
2) Oxygen Surge Vessel :- Oxygen from PSA Module have different varying purity depending upon the pressure it adsorbed during the one minute cycle time. The output received is also obtained at constant pressure with constant average gas purity.
3) Air Receiver :- It serves as a buffer vessel / small storage for compressed air to continuous feed the air to the system and as a result it kills the pulsation of pressure.
4) Raw Oxygen Flow Meter :- Raw oxygen flow meter (Rotameter) is used at the outlet of Oxygen Surge Vessel to check the quantity of Oxygen flow drawn in PSA system.
5) Percentage Oxygen Analyser :- It is a digital on-line oxygen analyzer is installed to monitor the oxygen Percentage level at outlet.
Application
1) Metal industry
Oxygen is heavily used in the metal industry , because it improve the process efficiency by increasing the burning temperature which is used in the production of ferrous and non ferrous metals.
2) Chemical and petrochemical industries
In chemical and petrochemical industries, oxygen helps to increase the  oxidation of raw chemicals and  healing  of nitric acid, ethylene oxide  and other important chemical compounds.
3) Fish farming
The use of oxygen in the fish farming is to increase the survival and fertility ratios and reduce the incubation period. This oxygen  is applied for shrimps, crabs and mussels rearing.
4) Glass industry
In glass furnaces industry oxygen is accomplished and it is  used to increase burning temperature  and burning processes improvement.
5) Waste management
Oxygen  is also used in incinerators which allows significantly increased the  flame temperatures and eventually ensures enhanced cost efficiency and incinerator production capacity.
Advantages :-  • It provides complete automation and simplicity in operation
•Quick start and stop facility.
• It has Moderate dimensions and light weight •Low noise level
• It helps to  Extended operational life
• It reduces Low operating costs
• To use it their is no special workshop is required
• It is easy to install and integration into an existing air system.
•Relativity low oxygen purity - 93-95% for adsorption

Types of Medieval Armour

Medieval Armour comes in different types in different period of time. Few of them are listed below:-

1) Quilted Jackets
2) Cuir Bouilli
3) Chainmail Hauberk
4) Reinforced Mail
5) The Trapper

Quilted Jacket
It was the cheapest form of armour named as quilted jacket. It was processed in the same way as ordinary clothing , but the jacket has padded layers so that it absorbed the force of blows and softening the impact of blunt weapons or reducing the chance that a sword or an arrow would penetrate flesh. It was specially made for the poor soldier  because it is cheap to make, readily available, but it is ineffective against the well-made weapons.

Cuir Bouilli
when boiling leather is treated with other substance like tanners it could turn into the cheapest form of armour  because it hardened the learned which is known as Cuir Bouilli. Its shape is similar to the plate medieval armour. Also its pieces are added to make quilted jacket or suit of chainmail because it provide extra protection.

Chainmail Hauberk
Chainmail hauberk is the fighting armour worn by elite class. It  provide flexibility to allow movements and it prevent the impact of blunt force metal and block smashing or stabbing blows.
It covered the  trunk of the human body, It consist of  split skirt that protect the upper legs. Its Wide sleeves  provide the  freedom of movement and protection to the arms. Sometimes it is included  with a  coif  that was go with the solid medieval helmet to give the head extra protection.

Reinforced Mail Armour
Pieces of plate metal, or boiled leather, were added to the chainmail, so that it reduce  the chances of a blade or penetrating point of the armor by forcing a gap in the rings.
Over  the period of time, shin, arm guards, plates were added on the body. It will act as sohisticated metal work that led to articulated gauntlets that protect the  hands and wrists.

The Trapper
When horses are considered as more wealthy and better armored resource than soldiers. The horses are covered with cloth armor or some prefer to choose a covering of chainmail combined with a metal chanforn on the head.
