Different Types of Air Compressor

Air compressor is a compressor that captures air and increases the amount of air in a specific place and delivers it at high pressure. It is derived from a diesel engine, electric motor or gasoline engine. These air compressors are famous and used in various industries for safe, clean and suitable use of air. Also, air compressor comes in different sizes, shapes and power. It is a device that transmits power into potential energy stored in pressurized air.

Types of Air Compressor:-

The types of air compressor can be classified on the basis of positive displacement or negative displacement as follows:-

1) Piston or Reciprocating Air Compressors:- These are one of the positive displacement compressing units. The power varies from fractions to immensely high. These compressors use a piston which transfers inside a tube to compress the air. Also, it is useful for great pressures. It includes valves, cylinders, pistons and housing blocks.

2) Centrifugal Compressors:- These are not a positive displacement compressor. It uses high speed impellers, accelerates the air and then use the diffuser to break the air. These compressors have diffuser combinations and inter coolers to cool the air between the stages.

3) Rotary Screw Compressors:-
In this type, air is compressed by two rotating or inter meshing rotors. Here, the air is compressed between two rotating screw and casing. It works by cooling, lubricating and creating a closure between the screws and the case wall.

4) Rotary Sliding Vane Compressor:- These are the positive displacement compressor. It consists of the stator, rotor and 8 blades. Here, the air is compressed between casing and rotating rotor with the help of a movable rotor blade.

Visit the website for air compressor or choose the right air compressor for your particular needs.Compressed air is used for various power tools such as drills, wrenches, air hammers, etc.It is used to atomize paint, operate air cylinders for automation and propel vehicles. Also, air compressor forces more and more air into the storage tank, increasing the pressure.Air compressors found on construction sites, offices, factories, medical offices and homes.
