Indian toilet are also known as squat toilet due to the posture of our body at the time of defecation not due to any technology used in it. Indian Style toilet is a toilet used by squatting, rather than sitting.

An Indian toilet is a piece of hardware used for the disposal of human urine and faeces. It allow the safe and convenient urination and defecation". Indian toilet are made up of porcelain (ceramic), stainless steel, fibreglass, and in developing countries where cost plays a major role, they can built it with concrete, ferrocement ,plastic . Toilets that are made up of wood (timber), need to be treated with preservatives, such as paint or linoleum so that it could prevent from rotting and to enable the cleaning of the squatting slab.

There are several types of Indian toilets, but they all consist essentially of a toilet pan or bowl at floor level. Indian toilet have a toilet pan which is known as "squatting pan".

An Indian toilet may use a water seal and therefore be a flush toilet, or it can be without a water seal and therefore be a dry toilet.
Indian toilets are commonly used in many Asian and African countries and other parts of world where people also prefer anal cleansing with water instead of toilet paper.

It may surprise you that Indian toilets are more hygienic.Thus , it is always preferable to go for Indian toilets in a public place because there is no direct contact of your body with the toilet seat in Indian toilets and this will help in reduced the risk of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) as compared to western toilets as their is a direct contact with our body.In Indian toilets, water is the basic wiping factor. Thus, Indian toilets are more hygienic and clean.

When using the Indian toilets it is a kind of exercise that is similar to squat exercise that we are doing. When we sit in squat position it will strengthen the legs muscle and also bring them in motion.and lead to better blood circulation in our body.

Improves digestion: Using Indian toilets fastens the process of digestion because we sit in a squat position which helps to digest the food properly. It lays pressure on the bowel movement so that the waste goes out properly.
